Jake Young
Jake is a co-founder and principal at The Food Guys International, a company that helps entrepreneurs and businesses in the hospitality industry create, transform, and grow their impact on the community and the bottom line. With over 20 years of international experience in developing business operations, leaders, and brands, Jake is passionate about empowering people to curate a better life for themselves and their employees.
As a business strategist, Jake leverages his expertise in purpose-driven profit frameworks and operating systems to drive measurable returns for both the stakeholders and the community. He also holds master’s degrees in business administration and global management, which equip him with the skills and knowledge to navigate the global and dynamic hospitality sector. Jake specializes in creating and implementing fully encompassing growth and purpose-driven strategies for businesses to maintain profitability throughout the end-to-end of the business cycle.
Roy McFarlane
Roy McFarlane, a creative polymath and co-founder of The Food Guys, boasts over 25 years of experience across graphic design, interior design, and culinary arts. His journey commenced at the age of 19 when he became the youngest-ever recipient of the esteemed Loerie Award for packaging design in South Africa, setting the stage for an illustrious career.
Roy’s creative prowess has graced cities worldwide, from London to Dubai, Oman to Greece, New Zealand to the Maldives. His innovative touch has left an indelible mark in luxury establishments such as Kurland, The Grand Café, Rooms Africa, Circle Café, and Sushi Counter, where he masterminded branding, interior design, and menu creation.
David Waters-Marsh
David joins us after having run area operations for QSR’s, Hotels and delivery only kitchens (Cloud Kitchens). David has a vast experience in running high volume, Fast passed brands as well as developing new brands, location expansion, system implementation, delivery only optimisation and HR framework.
He has also operated franchises in Northern England. David has a wealth of knowledge in operational system building and training both at a single site and group level. Specializing in brand evaluation expansion, optimization of site economics and scalability relating to direct training and systems.
Paul-Henry De Vassoigne
Originally from Martinique, Paul has always had a passion for cooking. Paul decided to turn his passion into a career. Paul left Martinique for Brittany, France to study at the Lycee Hotelier de Dinard. After graduating, he moved to Bordeaux to finish his schooling at VATEL International School of Hotel & Tourism Management. Paul then when on to train in Michelin starred restaurants in Corsica, Loire Atlantique, and Bordeaux before working in luxury hotels in the UK and EU. Paul eventually moved to London at started his own street food brand, growing it from a stall in Camden to a 3-location chain doing over £100k per month in revenue.
Paul’s passion is in contributing to amazing food led concepts from inception to consumption including the rigors of supply chain management and consumable procurement.
Alex De Silva
Alex has a determined and creative mind. A mind that flows through graphic design, photography, video and social media management. He has 18 years experience in the creative field, starting as a graphic designer and is experienced in events, fashion, fine art and food photography. As a photographer director, Alex has headed music videos clips and TV advertising in Brazil. In 2018, Alex moved to London to develop his skill and to challenge his career himself. A year after, he has participated at a photography exhibition in Paris for his fine art photography.
He is a self-educated in photography and for the main Adobe Suite programs, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro and After Effects, he also holds a BS in Visual Arts and Multimedia.
